Instant Addiction Sweet Treat

While not the most elegant looking sweet treat, the can't-go-wrong combination of salty and sweet explains my family's name for it--crack.

To begin, you need:
—saltine crackers
—2 sticks of butter
—1 cup of light brown sugar
—1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Start by lining a cookie sheet with foil and spray the foil with cooking spray. Place the crackers close together in a single layer on the sheet.

Melt the butter and stir to dissolve the brown sugar.  Keep stirring until the mixture becomes light brown and frothy.

Pour the mixture over the crackers and use a spatula to spread it out so it covers all of the crackers.

Place the cookie sheet in a 425 degree oven for 3-5 minutes (until it looks bubbly all over).

Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let it sit for about a minute to warm up the chocolate.

Use a spatula to spread the melted chips.

Wait until the cookie sheet is cool enough to touch and then place in a freezer for about 20 minutes.  Then break up into bite-size pieces.  Yum!
